This isn’t really a blog post, it’s more of a reminder for all Irish citizens to vote on 26 October. This referendum is on the removal of “blasphemy” from the Constitution. Currently Article 40.6.1 prohibits the “publication or utterance” of blasphemous material. Blasphemy is described in an accompanying act as anything that is offensive or insulting to something held sacred by any religion, causing outrage to a significant number of people in that religion.
